Mission:

Our volunteer program carries out one of the Foundation's core goals: improving cancer survivorship and quality of life of patients.

I have become so friendly with so many people. When they first come in, they are so frightened. I can see that in their eyes. By the second time, it’s much better. Because I’ve been through it, I think it helps that they can talk to me.

What do Magic of Life volunteers do?

Our patient-focused volunteering involves extending warmth and compassion to cancer patients while they’re undergoing cancer treatment.

  • We support patients during chemotherapy or radiation.
  • We engage in caring conversations with the family members of cancer patients.
  • We provide administrative assistance in clinic operations.
  • And much more.

The patients are amazing. I never hear anybody complain. I can tell it’s helpful to know that they are not in it by themselves. I know that if I were in that situation, it would be important to know that there was someone who cared about me.
— Linda Garrett, Blairsville Volunteer
